The Trauma Centre locates itself firmly in the field of transitional justice specialising in inclusive healing practices as one of the prerequisites for peace-building and human security in conflict and post conflict situations. As a prominent South African NGO providing trauma counselling and healing to South Africans and non-South Africans affected by violence and torture, the Trauma Centre is committed to the building of a non violent society with a respect for human rights.

 Its grassroots experience in therapeutic interventions, cutting edge research and advocacy programmes enable the sharing of expertise with strategic partnerships across Africa and further afield. On a local level, the Trauma Centre encourages a multi-disciplinary approach to healing sharing knowledge and expertise systems with other practitioners to facilitate multi-layered healing interventions.
